Four Mercenaries, One Messy Mission

Rogue Buddies is a side-scrolling action game about four mercenaries who get pulled into a dangerous hunt for gold and revenge. The team includes Maximus, Smoke, Alpha Tech, and Duster. Each fighter has a different specialty, so the game is not built around one hero doing everything alone. Maximus handles assault weapons and grenades. Smoke brings heavier firepower and rockets. Alpha Tech works with shields and drones. Duster moves like a ninja and fights with a katana.

The adventure sends the group through hostile areas filled with enemies, platforms, traps, and places that need to be explored. At certain points, members of the team are captured. Rescuing them is important because a freed buddy becomes another character you can control.

Switch Characters When the Situation Changes

Character switching gives Rogue Buddies much of its identity. One area may suit a character with strong ranged weapons. Another may be easier with Duster’s movement or Alpha Tech’s special tools.

The controls cover movement, two weapon options, actions, and changing characters. This keeps the basic setup manageable even when the screen becomes crowded with enemies.

Weapons can also be improved. Guns, grenades, rockets, and other equipment become more useful as you collect rewards and continue through the adventure. That gives exploration more value because rushing past everything can mean missing useful items.

Fight, Explore, and Collect Gold

Rogue Buddies mixes shooting with platform movement instead of keeping the player in one flat combat area. You may need to jump between platforms, avoid hazards, search for a route, and then deal with another group of enemies.

Gold plays a major role in the story and the gameplay. The mercenaries are looking for treasure while also dealing with the Company and other threats standing in their way. The journey moves through jungle areas, ruins, tunnels, caves, and other dangerous locations.

Rogue Buddies works as a fast action game, but the team system keeps it from feeling like simple nonstop shooting. Rescuing your crew changes the way you play, and learning what each mercenary does gives you more options when a level becomes difficult.

You can then play Rogue Buddies 2.
