Step Onto the Tennis Court
Tennis Masters 2020 is a light tennis game where you can compete against the computer or share the keyboard with another player. The matches use simple controls and exaggerated cartoon movement, so the game feels different from a serious tennis simulation. You can choose from a collection of characters before heading onto the court. There are quick matches for short games and a tournament mode where you try to defeat a series of opponents and become the champion.
The goal follows familiar tennis rules. Hit the ball over the net and try to make it land where your opponent cannot return it. You can move around the court, jump, make a normal hit, or use a stronger smash. Timing matters because a badly placed swing can send the ball somewhere easy for your rival to reach.
Use Power-Ups During the Rally
Tennis Masters 2020 adds unusual power-ups to regular tennis. Special items can appear above the net during a rally. Hitting one with the ball activates an effect. Some can freeze your opponent. Others can improve your racket or change the ball in a useful way. Funny character transformations can also appear, which makes matches less predictable.
In single-player mode, you can move with W, A, S, and D or the matching directional controls. X performs a normal hit and Z performs a smash. Two-player mode gives each person separate keys so both can compete on one keyboard.
Choose Quick Play or a Tournament
A quick match works well when you only want one game. Tournament mode gives you a longer goal. Each victory moves you closer to the championship.
The two-player option changes the experience because another person can react in less predictable ways than the computer. Power-ups can also turn a close match around in seconds.
Tennis Masters 2020 keeps the main tennis idea easy to understand while adding jumps, smashes, strange bonuses, and playful characters. Winning still depends on returning the ball at the right moment and placing your shots where the opponent has trouble reaching them.
