Tarnation is a defense game/strategy that protects a garden against bugs contaminated with tars, the nickname “tars.” Tars have been attempting to pollute the garden’s water supply, and your goal is to eliminate them. You control seeds, and using the mouse, you guide the seeds to grow into flowers. The flowers are your defense; different mouse movements create flowers of different colors to counter the bugs.
The 11 levels are included in the game, and as you move forward, the challenge becomes more difficult, especially when tackling the final boss, the mother tar. This fun light-hearted game with cute hand-drawn graphics combines strategy and quick reactions to defeat waves of enemies.
