The stone drops that many steps, no more and no less. Your goal is to link lines and make a safe path to the finish. You don’t rush. You think first, then place the stones.
Big numbers go far. Small numbers help you turn corners. Use both. Make a long line to cross a wide space. Place a short line to change direction. If a path looks wrong, try another stone and draw a new line. The board stays clear, so you can spot where your next turn should go.
Good tips: use the biggest numbers early, then fix the shape with small ones. Set a corner near the goal so your last line lands cleanly. Look ahead before every move. If a line would fly past the target, stop and try a shorter option. Keep building little by little until your path reaches the finish. That’s how Steppin’ Stones feels calm and fun.
