Introduction to Metal Slug Zombie Revenge
Have you ever wondered what would happen if your favorite run-and-gun series took a left turn into full-on zombie territory? That’s exactly what Metal Slug: Zombie Revenge does. Instead of hopping in tank rides and blasting through alien invasions, you’re dropped into claustrophobic corridors and open courtyards overrun by the undead. Four of the Metal Slug squad—Marco, Tarma, Eri, and Fio—return, but this time you’re trading in side-scrolling runs for a third-person, 3D beat ’em-up experience.
Combat feels surprisingly familiar yet fresh. You’ll swing, kick, and unleash heavy strikes on hordes of shambling zombies, all while scavenging for the series’ trademark firepower. Machine guns, rocket launchers, even flamethrowers show up in chests and crates, so you can mix up melee combos with gunfire. And let’s not forget the special attacks that send enemies flying or knock them flat on their backs—perfect for clearing a path when you’re getting swarmed. It’s co-op-friendly too, so you and a buddy (or three) can turn zombie carnage into a wild party.
Between the relentless wave of ghouls and the occasional mutant boss, there’s a surprisingly strong sense of progression—you unlock new moves, see little story cut-ins, and feel your skill improve as you dodge, weave, and counterattack. The colorful, slightly cartoony art style keeps things from getting too grim, and the soundtrack pumps perfect adrenaline for every head-crack and grenade blast. If you’re in the mood for retro action with a horror twist, this game delivers a solid, frantic good time.
