Play Online Mario Kart Super Circuit (GBA)

I remember popping in Mario Kart Super Circuit on my Game Boy Advance and being blown away that a handheld could capture that same speed-boosting rush as the console versions. The colorful sprites and winding tracks felt surprisingly alive on that little screen. Even though it wasn’t true 3D, the Mode 7-style graphics gave you enough depth to nail drifts and hit speed pads just right, all while balancing the Globe-shaped GBA in your hands on the bus ride home.

Picking your favorite from eight classic characters—Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi and the rest—felt like a mini nostalgia trip, especially when you unlocked new cups. I loved how they recycled tracks from Super Mario Kart on the SNES alongside brand-new courses designed just for the GBA. That mix meant you could challenge yourself on familiar classics like Donut Plains while also exploring fresh twists, like sneaky shortcuts through mines or surprising jumps in the desert levels.

And let’s talk items. Grabbing a well-timed Star or hurling a Shell at someone zooming past you in first place never got old. There was something almost zen about perfecting the timing on a tiny banana peel drop or pulling off a last-second boost pad to snag a podium spot. The Time Trial mode with its ghost data was perfect for chasing personal bests, too—nothing beats the thrill of shaving milliseconds off your own ghost’s lap.

Of course, it was even more memorable when you linked up with friends for real multiplayer chaos. Four kids huddled around one GBA each, cables crisscrossing the coffee table—it felt like a secret tournament every time. Looking back, Super Circuit might have been a bit simpler than today’s kart racers, but its charm and addictive pick-up-and-play vibe still hold up. It’s a perfect pocket-sized reminder of why Mario Kart grabs you and never quite lets go.
