Let Me Grow

Let Me Grow is a puzzle game that requires players to use various tools to manipulate water flow to reach specific objectives. Upon starting the game, players must select the golden yellow button in the center of the welcome screen to access the level select button. Only the first level is initially playable, and players must unlock subsequent levels sequentially. The welcome screen includes a full screen mode button and a sound control button.

The game controls are straightforward. Players use their mouse left-click button to select sand piles to pick them up or set them down. Turning valves also requires the left-click button. On touchscreen devices, players tap the screen with a finger, which serves as a mouse substitute. The upper right corner of the screen displays the number of sand piles available in the inventory, along with buttons to restart the current level or return to the level select screen.

The game features various elements, including sand piles, gnomes, flowers, valves, and pipes or drains. Sand piles stop the flow of water and can be picked up and set down in different locations. Gnomes are introduced in the fifth level and must be dry to complete any level. Flowers are dry and thirsty unless adjacent to water, and all flowers must be next to water on at least one side to complete any level.

Valves can move water from one area to another on the opposite side. Upstream water sources should be isolated from one another until some water is moved across first. If you combine all water sources upfront, it can be challenging to split them later, necessitating a replay. To operate a valve to drain water from an area, the opposite side you are pouring water into must be empty. Sand can quarantine off a small section to pour into if the remaining part of a section would be filled with water.

Pipes or drains that connect zones are introduced in level 11 of the game. Water that flows into a zone with one pipe color typically flows out into another area with a pipe of the same color. If water is drained from the outlet side of the pipe, it must also be removed from the source side of the pipe to get it to flow in the same direction again. Adjusting valve directions can get water to flow from one direction and back to the opposite direction, although it does not always work. If stuck on a puzzle, blocking a pipe and working the puzzle to get water to flow in the opposite direction may be necessary. A full reroute around the level or moving it in the original direction, then moving it one more section, and bringing it back can also work. The game allows for unlimited continues, and if a mistake is made, players can click on the circle arrow button in the upper right to restart the current level.
