Jump Out: Workshop — Finding an Escape for the Little Bugs
Jump Out: Workshop puts you in charge of small bugs trying to escape a dangerous workshop. You send them through the air toward an exit hole. Stars sit around each stage and give you another goal beyond reaching safety. Your job involves choosing a route through the obstacles without leaving the bugs in danger.
Pointing Each Jump in the Right Direction
You use the mouse to control the bugs. Click a bug and hold the mouse button. Drag to aim and release to launch it. You choose the direction before the jump rather than move the character around with arrow keys. The controls take little explanation. Picking a useful path takes more thought.
Start by finding the exit. Look at the space between the bug and that opening. Check for anything blocking the route. Aiming straight toward the exit may look tempting. Give the nearby dangers a careful look before taking that shot.
Saving Bugs and Gathering Stars
At least one bug needs to reach the exit to complete a level. Saving the whole group gives you a harder goal. You can work on getting one bug through a difficult layout before trying to rescue everyone.
The stars encourage you to consider more than the shortest escape route. Collecting them means aiming your jumps through their positions. A direct trip to safety and a trip through the stars do not always call for the same approach. Look at both goals before launching the first bug.
Staying Clear of Workshop Traps
Spikes and electrical hazards threaten the bugs along the way. The workshop also contains dangerous machinery. These obstacles make the space between your starting point and the exit important. Reaching toward the right target does not help much with a trap blocking the jump.
Press R to restart a level and try another approach. Keep track of the jump that causes trouble. Change that aim on your next attempt rather than repeat the same move. Work on a safe escape first. Then use another attempt to collect a missed star or bring more bugs to the exit.
