Guess the Video Game From Its Music
GamePops is a music quiz made for people who remember classic video games. Instead of showing a screenshot or asking a written trivia question, the game plays a short piece of music. Your job is to listen carefully and type the name of the video game that the tune comes from.
The original GamePops includes 64 tunes. They come from games released between 1981 and 1999 across systems such as Atari machines, the NES, Sega consoles, Super NES, PlayStation, Saturn, Amiga, MSX, PC, and other classic platforms.
You Only Get a Short Musical Clue
Each tune plays for around 15 seconds. That short sample needs to be enough to bring the game title back to your memory.
You then type your answer into the card. The original version expects the full game name for a successful answer, which makes it tougher than a normal multiple-choice quiz.
There are no pictures of the game characters to help you. Your ears and your memory do most of the work.
Work Through All 64 Games
GamePops tracks how many titles you recognize. Milestones reward progress as you discover more answers, with the full challenge asking you to identify all 64 games.
This makes it easy to return to a tune you could not recognize the first time.
A Quiz Made for Classic Game Fans
GamePops is especially interesting for players who grew up hearing music from older consoles and computers. A few notes can suddenly remind you of a game you have not thought about for years.
Listen to each track, think about where you remember it from, enter the complete title, and keep moving through the collection. The real challenge is seeing how many classic games you can identify from their music alone.
