Free the Key – Solve the Wooden Block Puzzles and Escape the Temple
Free the Key is a puzzle game that takes you inside an ancient temple filled with wooden blocks and locked passages. Your goal is to free a trapped key by moving obstacles out of its path.
The challenge looks simple at first. You only need to slide a few blocks to make space for the key. However, each wooden piece has limited movement, so you must think carefully before making your next move.
The game includes many puzzles that become harder as you travel deeper into the temple.
A Key Trapped Behind Wooden Blocks
Each level presents a board filled with rectangular wooden pieces.
The golden key sits behind these obstacles, and you must create a clear path toward the exit.
Some blocks lie horizontally, while others stand vertically. You can slide them only in the direction that their position allows.
Horizontal blocks move left or right. Vertical pieces move up or down.
You cannot simply pick up a block and place it anywhere. Every piece must slide through the available space.
Move the Obstacles in the Right Order
Use your mouse to select a wooden block and drag it along its permitted direction.
Moving one piece can create room for another. Sometimes you need several movements before the key has a clear path.
Look at the position of every block before choosing your first move.
A piece that seems unimportant may prevent another block from moving. Finding the right order helps you solve the puzzle without getting stuck.
Once you clear the passage, slide the key toward the opening to complete the level.
Try to Solve Each Puzzle with Fewer Moves
Free the Key includes an extra challenge for players who want to improve their puzzle-solving skills.
You can try to complete each level using the smallest number of movements.
Moving blocks without planning may eventually free the key, but it can also create unnecessary work.
Start by studying the space directly in front of the key. Identify which wooden pieces block the exit.
Then work out how to move those obstacles without closing another important passage.
Explore More Difficult Temple Puzzles
The first few stages introduce the basic rules and give you room to practice.
Later puzzles contain more complicated block arrangements. You need to move several pieces in the correct order to open a passage.
Sometimes an early decision leaves no useful space for another block. The reset option lets you start the puzzle again and try a different approach.
Free the Key focuses on planning rather than speed. There is no need to rush through the wooden puzzles.
Each completed level gives you a new arrangement to solve, making the game suitable for players who enjoy thinking carefully and finding clever solutions.
