Imagine you’re controlling this spiky-haired guy named Fred who apparently fancies getting impaled, crushed, or sliced to bits while sprinting through a series of ominous warehouses and caverns. Your goal is pretty straightforward: run as far as you can without getting skewered by swinging blades, mashed by rolling logs, or impaled on giant spikes. The twist is in the controls—aside from the usual jump and slide moves, Fred can wall-run, grapple onto hooks, and perform cheeky double jumps, which means just when you think you know what’s coming, you have to adjust on the fly.
What really hooks you is the game’s manic pace and—let’s just say it—delightfully over-the-top gore. You’ll find yourself cackling when Fred accidentally stumbles into a trap and goes flying over the screen in a cloud of cartoonish blood. Coins are scattered everywhere, and grabbing them means risking life and limb, but failing to snag a few can leave you woefully underpowered against the next gauntlet of buzzsaws. Then there are the power-ups—speed boosts, invincibility potions, and magnets that pull coins toward you—so you always feel like you’re one well-timed boost away from a new high score.
