Alan Probe Picks Up His Tools Again
Amateur Surgeon 2 is a funny surgery game that brings Alan Probe back for another collection of strange medical emergencies. The story takes place 51 years after the first Amateur Surgeon. Alan has grown old and retired from his unusual career, but a mysterious visitor convinces him to start operating again.
Alan does not work like a normal doctor. His collection of medical equipment includes ordinary household objects used in ridiculous ways. A pizza cutter can open an area that needs surgery. A lighter helps close small wounds. Other jobs may require tools such as a chainsaw or car battery. The game uses cartoon blood and dark humor, so it is aimed at older players rather than young children.
Treat One Unusual Patient After Another
Every patient arrives with a different problem.
Your job is to examine the injury and perform the required steps in the correct order. One operation may involve removing unwanted objects. Another can require cutting, repairing damaged areas, closing wounds, and helping the patient’s condition recover.
You cannot simply choose random tools and hope for the best.
The patient’s health needs attention throughout the operation. Taking too long or making too many mistakes can put the patient in serious trouble. This gives each surgery a clear sense of pressure even though the situations are intentionally silly.
The game features 20 new surgeries, including a collection of strange patients and unusual medical problems.
Pick the Right Tool for Each Job
Your surgical tools appear along the top of the screen.
Click a tool with the mouse and then use it on the correct part of the patient. Most actions involve clicking, holding, dragging, or tracing across a specific area.
You can also select tools with the number keys from 0 to 9, which makes switching equipment faster once you know where everything sits.
Different injuries require different methods. Using the wrong item wastes valuable time and can hurt the patient’s condition.
Amateur Surgeon 2 therefore becomes partly a memory game. The more procedures you complete, the easier it becomes to remember which tool solves each kind of problem.
Upgrade Your Medical Equipment
One of the useful additions in Amateur Surgeon 2 is the ability to improve your tools.
After completing a surgery, you can upgrade equipment to make future operations easier. Improvements can help tools work faster or make them more effective.
This gives you something to think about between patients.
A tool you use often may deserve an early upgrade. Another player may prefer improving equipment that helps restore a patient’s condition when an operation starts going badly.
Your choices can make later surgeries easier to manage.
Work Through Two Acts
The game divides its story into two acts and also contains secret characters that can be discovered.
New patients gradually introduce more complicated situations. You need to work faster while still using each tool accurately.
That balance gives Amateur Surgeon 2 most of its challenge. The controls stay simple, but each operation asks you to remember several steps and perform them before the patient’s health runs out.
The strange patients and ridiculous equipment keep the game from feeling like a serious medical simulation. Amateur Surgeon 2 focuses on timing, mouse control, tool selection, and figuring out how to complete one bizarre operation after another.
The result is a surgery game with a clear gameplay loop: meet the patient, study the problem, choose the right tools, complete the procedure, improve your equipment, and prepare for an even stranger case.
