One Dungeon Room, Many Different Challenges

1 Screen Hero is an action adventure game where you control a small hero trapped inside a strange dungeon. The title describes the main idea well. Each challenge takes place on a single screen, but the layout, enemies, treasure, and escape route can change as you continue.

Your hero has also been placed under an unusual curse. Dying does not end the adventure for good. Instead, you return to another dungeon that feels familiar while giving you a different arrangement of dangers and rewards. Your aim is to survive through as many of these rooms as possible.

Fight Monsters and Search for Treasure

You can move with the arrow keys or W, A, S, and D. Press Z or click the mouse to attack with your weapon.

Monsters wander around the dungeon and can block useful routes. Fighting them may clear space and can also help you reach treasure scattered around the room.

Coins increase your score, while keys can open special treasure chests. Some chest rewards improve useful abilities such as health, movement speed, or attack strength.

That gives you a reason to explore instead of heading straight toward the exit every time.

Watch the Timer

Every room gives you limited time.

A green portal appears before the timer runs out, and you need to reach it to continue into the next dungeon. The portal does not always appear in the same place, so staying aware of the whole room helps.

Waiting too far from the possible exit locations can leave you scrambling across the dungeon during the final seconds.

This creates an interesting choice. You may want another coin or treasure chest, but spending too long collecting items can make reaching the portal much harder.

Keep Going After Defeat

The curse is what gives 1 Screen Hero its unusual structure.

A failed attempt sends you into another similar adventure instead of ending everything permanently. The dungeon keeps changing, which means memorizing one exact route does not solve the entire game.

You need to react to the current room, fight whatever monsters appear, gather useful treasure, and keep track of the timer.

1 Screen Hero combines quick combat with small decisions about risk. Collecting another coin may improve your score. Opening a chest may strengthen the hero. Staying too long can leave you without enough time to reach the green portal.

The controls remain simple, but lasting through many rooms takes good movement and better timing. Explore quickly, defeat nearby monsters, grab useful rewards, and be ready to run for the portal before the dungeon claims another life.
