About Renegades

You know that buzz you get when you’re sneaking around a wizard’s tower, swapping glowy crystals behind your friends’ backs, and secretly cheering when your rival’s plan goes up in smoke? That’s basically the vibe of Renegades. You and a few fellow apprentices have been hired by a mysterious archmage to pull off daring heists—except each of you actually signed contracts with different factions. So while you’re technically all on the same team, you’ve also got your own hidden agendas to juggle.

Every round feels like a miniature tug-of-war. You play cards in a trick-taking style—low cards, high cards, special powers popping up—and whoever wins the trick gets to claim a contract tile. Those tiles are how you score influence with the various shady organizations pulling your strings. But here’s the twist: you can help someone one minute and totally betray them the next, because those faction goals might line up with your secret mission… or completely conflict with it.

What makes Renegades shine is the social energy at the table. You’ll find yourself negotiating over scraps of information, slyly laying down cards to mislead your buddies, and laughing when someone realizes they’ve been played. The game moves fast—most plays last around 45 minutes—so there’s just enough time to scheme, backstab, and have a beer before running it back for another round.

By the end, you’ll be tallying who tipped the scales in their favor, bragging about that one perfectly timed bluff, and already itching to go again. It’s light enough that newcomers can jump in without a rulebook meltdown, yet sneaky and layered enough to keep experienced players on their toes. If you’re craving a game night full of whispers, grins, and “I can’t believe you did that!” moments, Renegades has your name (and your rival’s) written all over it.
